Conditions favorable for rapid fire spread will continue through the afternoon for areas in the lower foothills of the Front Range Mountains, I-25 corridor, and adjacent plains, where a Red Flag Warning is currently in place through 5 PM tonight. Could continue to see some gusts around 60-70 mph for our typical windy spots along the foothills and our higher elevations where a High Wind Warning is set to expire at 11 AM, but the general areas where the Red Flag Warning is in place will see gusts to 45 mph and relative humidity values drop down to around 15%. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Strong winds can be expected along the highest elevations again on Friday, though there will be significant improvements over what the past few days have seen. An extended period of warm and dry conditions are expected through the long term period, with only light precipitation chances returning to the northern mountains around the middle of next week. With well above normal temperatures expected, there may be some periods of elevated fire weather conditions that develop, and ensembles are leaning towards another wind event possible by midweek. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight. $$ |
