On June 18, 2026, a long-duration heavy rain event associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur developed over Avoyelles Parish.
A CoCoRaHS observer measured 29.06 inches of rain three miles southeast of Cottonport, Louisiana.
This total fell in less than 12 hours, easily eclipsing the previous 24-hour Louisiana rainfall record of 22 inches, which occurred in Hackberry on August 29, 1962 (non-tropical storm).
