🚧 Minor to moderate flooding is ongoing along the Satilla River due to runoff from the excessive rains that occurred across inland portions of southeast GA during the past weekend. Water levels have risen above flood stage this morning at Waycross and will rise above flood stage this afternoon at Atkinson, where minor flooding is forecast. ⚠️ NEVER drive around barricades into floodwaters! Most flood fatalities are vehicle-related. It only takes 12”of fast-moving water to carry off a small car and 18” of water to sweep a larger vehicle away.
