After the storm, conditions improve for Thornton’s weekend but remain chilly

That’s a wrap on our Pi Day storm. Thornton had a two day total of 10.8 inches of heavy, wet snow. Certainly, there were the haves and have-nots with some folks not far from Thornton Weather HQ receiving much less.

For Friday, we may see a few more flakes early but then snow will end and we will see a little bit of sun. High temperatures will top out around 39 degrees. Tonight, fog is expected to develop with partly clear skies. Lows will dip to the low to mid-20s.

Saturday will see fog initially, then some blue sky with mostly sunny skies above. It will remain cool with highs in the low to mid-40s. Saturday night, a weak system brings just a slight chance of rain / snow showers but no drama is expected. Lows will be around 30 degrees.

Sunday we warm further but will see more clouds. Look for highs in the mid-40s under partly sunny skies.
