Denver ties record high temperature for August 17

Record High Temperature

Another high temperature record is in the books for the Mile High City. As measured at Denver International Airport, Denver hit a high temperature of 98 degrees. This ties the record high for August 17 last set in 2020.

Here in Thornton, we were actually warmer with a high of 99 degrees. At Stapleton, where historical Denver weather records were taken from 1950 to 1995, the high was only 93 degrees.

We knew going into today this was a possibility and indeed, it happened.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the official high temperature for the Mile High City reached 67 degrees. This ties the record high for the date last set more than 100 years ago in 1917.

Here in Thornton, we were just a touch warmer with a high of 68 degrees. This was the warmest December 19th since ThorntonWeather.com came online in 2006.

Denver sets new record high temperature for October 20

We knew it was going to be unusually warm today and Mother Nature did not disappoint. In fact, the Mile High City broke a 73 year old record.

As measured at Denver International Airport, Denver’s high temperature today topped out at 86 degrees. This easily bested the previous record high for October 20th of 83 degrees set in 1950.

Here in Thornton, we lagged Denver much of the day but in the end, managed an extra degree above them, topping out at 87 degrees.

We will cool down about 10 degrees for the balance of the weekend. Conditions will remain dry and calm.

Denver sets record high minimum for October 1

Record High Temperature

Our mild days of late have helped keep the nights relatively warm and last night we saw our warmest night for the date.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the Mile High City saw a low of 58 degrees. This sets a new record high minimum for October 1, besting the previous mark of 57 degrees set in 2005.

Here in Thornton, the breezy winds kept us even warmer with a low of 60.6 degrees.
