Thornton recorded its hottest month of the past six years during July 2012.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For the second month in a row, Thornton saw extraordinarily warm temperatures in July.\u00a0 The month not only was the warmest July ever recorded by ThorntonWeather.com, it was the warmest month recorded since we began operation.<\/p>\n

The average temperature for July 2012 was an astonishing 75.5 degrees.\u00a0 This was 1.8 degrees above Thornton\u2019s average for July over the past six years, a significant increase.<\/p>\n

Temperatures ranged from a high of 98.7 degrees on July 1 down to a low of 56.6 degrees on July 11.<\/p>\n

In all we recorded 23 days with high temperatures at or above 90 degrees.\u00a0 We did however manage to escape the month without breaking the century mark.<\/p>\n

In terms of precipitation Thornton didn\u2019t fare too poorly.\u00a0 We recorded 1.92 inches of precipitation in our rain bucket.\u00a0 This was only 0.03\u201d below the six year average of 1.95 inches.<\/p>\n
