The past week has brought some beautiful sunrises and sunsets to the Colorado Front Range.\u00a0 The evening of Thursday, January 5, 2012 was no exception as Thornton was treated to an amazing display.<\/p>\n

Wave clouds are formed by atmospheric \u2018waves\u2019 of wind flowing up and down mountains.\u00a0 Here in Colorado we have had a pretty consistent wave cloud hovering over the Denver metro area this past week.<\/p>\n

On Thursday evening, this cloud was present and lit up in shades of orange and red as the sun set behind the Rocky Mountains.\u00a0 What made the beautiful scene amazing was an unusual circular formation in the bottom of the cloud.<\/p>\n
