Click the image to watch the amazing video on Examiner.com.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The death toll from the relentless flooding in Queensland, Australia continues to climb as four people were killed in a flash flood.\u00a0 The rising waters have inundated an area covering hundreds of thousands of square miles and now threaten the city of Brisbane.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The most recent fatalities, two adults and two children, occurred near the city of Toowoomba when flash floods swept their vehicle from the road.\u00a0 A wall of water as high as 26 feet (eight meters) raged through the area in the wake of a rainstorm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/natural-disasters-in-national\/flash-flood-toowoomba-australia-sweeps-away-cars-video\">Click here to watch amazing video of the flash food in Toowoomba (Examiner.com)<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>Cars, furniture and people were tossed around by the rushing waters and search and rescue operations continue as fears of additional deaths weigh heavily. \u00a0The waters hit with enough intensity to move houses from their foundations and landslides covered highways.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Premier Anna Bligh told a press conference, \u201cMother Nature has unleashed something shocking on Toowoomba.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Don&#8217;t miss &#8211; <\/em><a rel=\"bookmark\" href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/natural-disasters-in-national\/nasa-satellite-images-of-flooding-queensland-australia-picture\"><em>Latest NASA satellite images show expanding floods in Australia<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0(Examiner.com)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more-->Fears of the expanding flooding had residents of low-lying areas in Brisbane filling sandbags and preparing for the worst.\u00a0 The third largest city in Australia, Brisbane is home to 2 million residents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 226px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/natural-disasters-in-national\/flooding-australia-continues-with-rising-waters-and-death-toll-picture\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"2010 snow season animation shows snow cover growing across the U.S.\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/_qM6V6-HRzM0\/TSztT4pJZ5I\/AAAAAAAAEMk\/frHkvLZi_QQ\/s800\/2011-01-11_165233.jpg\" alt=\"Slideshow: Flooding in Australia continues with rising waters and death toll\" width=\"226\" height=\"297\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slideshow: Flooding in Australia continues with rising waters and death toll.
