(NASA) See a larger version below.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This past Friday and Saturday the Mid-Atlantic states were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-25803-Natural-Disasters-Examiner~y2010m2d8-MidAtlantic-digs-out-as-another-snowstorm-looms\">smashed by a record-setting snowstorm that left more than two feet of snow in many areas<\/a>. The snow brought the nation\u2019s capital to a grinding halt and now the extent of the storm\u2019s wrath can be seen from space.<\/p>\n<p>NASA\u2019s Terra satellite flew over the area on Monday and was able to capture amazing imagery showing the widespread snow cover. The image to the right and the larger version below clearly show Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia buried under a significant blanket of white.<\/p>\n<p>Even as area residents continue to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-25803-Natural-Disasters-Examiner~y2010m2d8-MidAtlantic-digs-out-as-another-snowstorm-looms\">dig out from the snow<\/a> and power companies try to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-25803-Natural-Disasters-Examiner~y2010m2d6-Blizzard-pounds-MidAtlantic-States-knocking-out-power-to-tens-of-thousands\">restore power to tens of thousands<\/a>, a second blast of winter is set to arrive today.
