(Jessica Fey)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As the calendar turns to August, the summertime heat begins to fade and that makes it easier to get out and enjoy all of the outdoor activities\u00a0Colorado has to offer. \u00a0From a walk in a park to afternoon thunderstorms to an abundance of wildlife, photo opportunities abound as is seen in our slideshow.<\/p>\n<p>Our monsoon season typically arrives about now and that means better chances for\u00a0moisture. \u00a0However with limited instability, the intensity of storms are more sedate. \u00a0That doesn\u2019t mean however that the weather is any less photographic.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Slideshow updated August 27, 2020<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By the end of the month some\u00a0of our seasonal feathered friends will be looking to leave the state giving our last\u00a0chance to see them till spring. \u00a0Larger mammals are gearing up for\u00a0the rut (mating season) and that can make for some intense scenes.<\/p>\n<p>Showcasing images captured by ThorntonWeather.com readers as well as some of our own, our monthly slideshow covers the entire gamut of weather and nature related imagery.
