{"id":17453,"date":"2017-04-06T06:03:52","date_gmt":"2017-04-06T12:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thorntonweather.com\/blog\/?p=17453"},"modified":"2017-04-07T05:21:53","modified_gmt":"2017-04-07T11:21:53","slug":"march-2017-weather-recap-an-extraordinarily-warm-month-for-thornton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thorntonweather.com\/blog\/thornton-weather\/march-2017-weather-recap-an-extraordinarily-warm-month-for-thornton\/","title":{"rendered":"March 2017 weather recap: An extraordinarily warm month for Thornton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March 2017 was anything but typical for the Colorado Front Range.\u00a0 Temperatures were well above normal and perhaps most notably, no measurable snow was recorded \u2013 a rarity for March.<\/p>\n<p>Warm and windy weather dominated our weather for the first three weeks of the month.\u00a0 While only one record temperature was recorded, the overall warmth led to Denver seeing its third warmest March on record.\u00a0 The last week of the month finally brought about change resulting in cooler temperatures and some much-needed precipitation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thorntonweather.com\/blog\/thornton-weather\/march-2017-top-shots-monthly-photo-slideshow\/\">March 2017 top shots: Monthly photo slideshow<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thornton\u2019s overall average temperature for March was 48.3 degrees.\u00a0 Out at DIA where the Mile High City\u2019s official temperature measurements are taken, it was slightly cooler with an average of 47.9 degrees.\u00a0 Both were far above the long-term March average of 40.4 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures in Thornton ranged from a high of 81.7 degrees on both the 18th and 19th.\u00a0 Our coldest reading of the month came on the first of the month with a low of 16.8 degrees.\u00a0 Denver saw its warmest temperature of 81 degrees on the 18th and its low of 14 on the first.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of precipitation, Denver averages 0.92 inches during the month of March.
