{"id":15431,"date":"2015-08-02T04:32:54","date_gmt":"2015-08-02T10:32:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thorntonweather.com\/blog\/?p=15431"},"modified":"2015-08-02T04:32:54","modified_gmt":"2015-08-02T10:32:54","slug":"july-2015-weather-recap-cooler-than-normal-temps-a-bit-drier-than-average","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thorntonweather.com\/blog\/thornton-weather\/july-2015-weather-recap-cooler-than-normal-temps-a-bit-drier-than-average\/","title":{"rendered":"July 2015 weather recap: Cooler than normal temps, a bit drier than average"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The month of July continued the recent trend of cool, damp weather.\u00a0 By the time it was said and done though, while temperatures overall were below average, precipitation fell short of normal.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures were at or above normal for the first few days allowing for a pleasant Independence Day.<\/p>\n<p>The day after, however, a monsoonal weather pattern cooled things down and brought most of the month\u2019s moisture over the following 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>Ridging then built and we settled into a relatively normal period for the final two weeks although precipitation became scarcer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thorntonweather.com\/blog\/thornton-weather\/july-2015-top-shots-monthly-photo-slideshow\/\">July 2015 top shots: Monthly photo slideshow<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thornton saw an average temperature for July 2015 of 71.2 degrees.\u00a0 This was a good bit below the long term Denver average of 74.2 degrees.\u00a0 Out at Denver International Airport where the Mile High City\u2019s official measurements are taken, the average for the month was 72.8 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Our temperatures ranged from a high of 96.1 degrees on the 27th down to a low of 53 degrees on the 11th.\u00a0 Denver saw a maximum of 97 degrees and a minimum of 52 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Denver averages 2.16 inches of precipitation during July.\u00a0 Thornton fell a bit short of that mark recording 1.76 inches.\u00a0 At the airport, only 1.06 inches was recorded.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thorntonweather.com\/climatedataout72015.html\">Click here to view Thornton\u2019s July 2015 climate report.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 580px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-79OQ2GRWOMg\/Vb3w3p2xj9I\/AAAAAAAADcA\/xw1Gz0wY7ro\/s580-Ic42\/2015-07-Temp.jpg\" alt=\"Thornton, Colorado July 2015 temperatur?e summary.
