Thornton’s weekend weather to offer up calm and dry conditions

Friday, December 6th, 2019 5:06am MDT

A pretty good looking late-fall weekend ahead for us. We do start out chilly on Friday but then will warm up a good bit Saturday and Sunday.

For today, there will be some areas of fog initially, particularly along the South Platte River. Once that is gone, sunny skies will be above. Conditions will be calm as we head for a high temperature around 40 degrees. Tonight, mostly cloudy skies will be above and we do expect some fog again. Overnight lows will dip to the mid-20s.

Saturday promises to be the warmest day of the three-day period. With mostly sunny skies, highs will be the in the mid-50s, helping to rid us of the lingering snow cover. Saturday night into Sunday morning, mostly cloudy skies will be above with lows near freezing.

The weekend closes out with slightly cooler conditions on Sunday. Highs will be around the 50 degree mark under partly sunny skies. A cold front arrives late in the day Sunday and that will bring just a slight chance overnight Sunday and through Monday. Have a great weekend
