Thornton’s Independence Day weekend to offer mild temps, some chances for storms

Friday, July 1st, 2022 5:00am MDT

The four-day outlook starts off a bit cooler but then temps return to near normal and then leaning toward the hot side for the holiday.

For today, partly sunny skies will be above with highs in the low to mid-80s. The afternoon brings a chance for storms but most activity will again be to our south. Tonight, any storms will end by late evening then skies will clear. Lows will be around the 60 degree mark.

Saturday sees temps rebound with highs right around 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies. The afternoon brings a decent chance for storms. Saturday night, low dip to the low 60s under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday looks much like Saturday. Temperatures will again top out around 90 degrees. Mostly sunny skies will be above with a chance for PM storms. Sunday night, mostly clear skies will be above with lows in the low 60s.

For Independence Day, we will see plenty of sun and the mercury will climb. Look for highs pushing toward the mid-90s. The afternoon and evening will offer a slight chance for thunderstorms. Happy birthday, America!
