First day of December brings cold temperatures, blustery winds and some snow flurries

Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 5:05am MDT

A turn toward wintry weather for Thornton today. The first of two systems will arrive this morning and while it will turn colder, moisture is lacking so we aren’t expecting much snow.

Mostly cloudy skies will be with us throughout the day today. The cold front will push through mid-morning and when it does, winds will be picking up. Blustery winds with gust to 30mph will then be with us into the evening.

High temperatures today will top out in the mid-30s before noon then begin a slow drop from there. As for snow, from noon into the evening, some flurries / light snow will be possible but at this time we are not expecting any accumulations.

Tonight, skies remain mostly cloudy with overnight lows dropping to the upper teens. Again, some light snow and flurries will be possible overnight but with no accumulation expected.
