A day of transition as Monday starts off nice, will end unsettled

Our first taste of fall for the year arrives today. We start off nice enough but a front moves in later bringing unsettled conditions and a series of systems will keep us cooler through the workweek.

Mostly sunny skies start us off today and conditions will initially be calm. Late morning will see cloud cover increase and we will reach our high in the low 80s. Some scattered thunderstorm activity may be seen after noon with chances increasing starting around 3:00pm. At this time, the most notable risk from these storms will be strong, gusty winds.

This evening, we will continue to see isolated thunderstorm activity until 9:00pm. Then, activity will decrease although we can’t rule out a cell or two moving through overnight. Look for lows tonight around 50 degrees.

Looking ahead, a series of systems will impact the balance of the workweek bringing a couple more chances for showers and cooling temperatures. More in the extended forecast here.
