ThorntonWeather.com Snow Report

Recent snow helps but seasonal total remains well below average.

Through January 31st Denver averages 27.8″ of snow with a long term seasonal total average of 57.5″.  Yesterday’s snow did help to make up a bit for the deficit in snowfall thus far this season but we are still lagging.

Thus far Denver’s official seasonal snowfall total so far is at 16.8″ while Thornton trails at 14.6″.

Looking ahead, February is historically our 6th snowiest month, March our 1st and April our 5th.

We certainly are going to need some big late winter / early spring storms to make up ground.  Unfortunately the latest long range climate outlooks point toward overall continued drier and warmer than normal conditions.
