Unsettled weather arrives for Thornton’s weekend

Friday, December 13th, 2019 5:01am MST

A change in the relatively calm weather we have seen this week as a series of systems impacts the Colorado Front Range. We start out mild and with some wind but most of the weekend will be colder with some light snow.

For today, mostly sunny skies will be above throughout the day. Winds will be increasing this morning and become quite breezy for much of the day, then settle down about sunset. High temps today will be in the low to mid-40s thanks to the downslope flow. Tonight, partly cloudy skies will be above with lows around 22 degrees.

A cold front will be moving in tonight and that will bring changes tomorrow. Partly clear skies will be above with some light snow possible throughout the day tomorrow. Minimal, if any, accumulations are expected. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 30s. Overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, mostly cloudy skies will be above with lows around 18 degrees.

Some light snow will be possible. Sunday will be the coldest day of the three day period with highs only around 30 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies will be above with some light snow possible throughout the day. We will want to keep a watch on it though as the potential is there to see some accumulations.

Have a great weekend.
