Thornton’s weekend starts out seasonal, will end up hot

Friday, August 16th, 2019 5:38am MDT

Mother Nature’s furnace is getting ready to kick on. While we will enjoy temps not far from normal and a chance for storms today, temps for the balance of the weekend will be increasing.

Friday will bring mostly sunny skies throughout the day. Highs will top out right around the 90 degree mark. We do stand a chance for PM thunderstorms, mainly after 3:00pm. Some storms in eastern Colorado may turn severe but right now it appears the worst should stay to our east. Overnight tonight, skies will be mostly clear with lows in the upper 50s.

Saturday will be a calm day but with increasing temperatures. Highs will be in the mid-90s under mostly sunny skies. Saturday night into Sunday morning, mostly clear skies will be above, lows will again be in the upper 50s.

Sunday brings the heat. Sunny skies will be above with highs in the mid to upper 90s.

Have a great weekend.
