Thornton’s weekend starts out seasonal, then sees a return of the heat

Friday, August 23rd, 2019 5:06am MST

We will be seeing a bit of a weather roller coaster this weekend and into at least the first part of the week. Friday will be pretty typical of what we expect to see this year but then the heat returns for Saturday and Sunday. However, cooler weather looks to be on the way Monday.

For today, partly sunny skies will be above throughout with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The afternoon and evening will a bit of a chance for thunderstorms. Tonight, partly clear skies will be above with overnight lows in the mid-50s.

Saturday dries out and warms up. Mostly sunny skies will be above and at this time we do not expect any storms. Highs will be in the low 90s. Saturday night into Sunday morning, mostly clear skies will be above with lows around 60 degrees.

Sunday warms up even further with highs in the mid-90s under sunny skies.

Beyond that, we are still expecting a shot of cooler air from the north to arrive Monday. This should bring temperatures to at least around normal, perhaps even cooler than that. Have a great weekend!
