Thornton’s weekend starts out mild, will see temps get cooler over the period

Friday, October 4th, 2019 5:12am MDT

We will start out things warm on Friday but then a series of fronts will see us get cooler as the weekend progresses. Looking further ahead, we may be looking at snow toward the middle to end of next week.

For today, sunny skies will be above throughout. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s, aided by downslope winds. Those winds will increase in the late afternoon and evening and be a bit gusty overnight. Lows tonight will be in the low 40s.

Saturday will see temperatures cool with highs near the 70 degree mark, right about normal for the date. Sunny skies will be above with winds continuing to be breezy throughout the day. Saturday night into Sunday morning, mostly clear skies will be above. Overnight lows will dip to the mid to upper 30s.

Sunday continues the cool down. Highs will be the mid-60s but again with sunny skies above. Winds will be light.

As for the snow we mentioned… Models are pointing to a cold front arriving late Wednesday that will bring a chill to the air and, potentially, our first snowfall of the season. Until then, enjoy the warmer, dry weather.

Have a great weekend!
