Thornton’s Wednesday starts cold and will be cool but lots of sun above

Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 5:14am MST

Temps dropped further than expected this morning giving us our first freeze of the season. Following the cold start, we will warm up under clear skies but temps will remain cooler than normal.

Sunny skies start us off and will be with us for the bulk of the day. Late afternoon may bring just a few clouds. Look for highs in the upper 50s. Winds will be steady and light out of the west, sometimes making it feel cooler than the thermometer says.

Tonight, cloud cover will be increasing as the next storm system draws closer. Look for overnight lows around 34 degrees. It would not be surprising to see a Freeze Watch issued later today.
