Thornton’s Thursday warms up a bit, offers another chance for thunderstorms

Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 5:13am MST

Today offers weather a good bit like what we experienced yesterday. Temps will be a few degrees warmer and we again will see some scattered thunderstorm activity.

Mostly sunny skies start us off and will be with us till late morning when clouds will then increase.

By then, thunderstorms will be developing in the high country and foothills. Some of these will move off to lower elevations. Our best chance for activity will come from about 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Some of these storms will have the potential for hail, strong wind and heavy rain.

Highs today will be in the upper 80s.

Tonight, storm activity will end by midnight leaving us with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Overnight low temps will be around the 60 degree mark.
