Thornton’s Thursday cools down to near normal temps, brings decent chance for storms

Thursday, May 14th, 2020 5:30am MDT

With the passing of a cold front, our weather cools down and afternoon and evening thunderstorms will threaten.

Mostly sunny skies will be with us until late morning / early afternoon. Clouds will then increase leading to partly clear conditions. High temperatures today will top out right near the average high for the date of 71 degrees.

Scattered thunderstorms will develop after noon and increase in coverage in the mid-afternoon to early evening hours. Gusty winds, perhaps some small hail will be the biggest threats.

Tonight, storm activity will end by midnight. Overnight lows will be in the mid-40s.
