Thornton starts off the workweek with above normal temps, some thunderstorms

Monday, July 15th, 2019 5:05am MDT

A relatively typical, summer day in store for us with temperatures a bit above average and a good chance for thunderstorms. Most notable, however, is that today will likely be the coolest day of the workweek!

Today starts out with clear skies and we will see lots of sun in the morning. Clouds will increase as we get close to noon and moisture begins to build. Temperatures will top out around 93 degrees, about 3 degrees above normal. We’ll see some thunderstorm activity in the area, primarily from the early afternoon into the evening.

Tonight, skies will be partly clear with lows in the low 60s.

As we mentioned, even warmer weather lies ahead with mercury readings pushing toward the century mark Wednesday through Friday. Get a preview in the extended weather forecast here.
