Monday brings unsettled weather conditions, chance for precipitation

Monday, January 27th, 2020 5:04am MST

Will we finally see our first precipitation of the month today? It is possible, however, at this time it isn’t looking like it will amount to much.

Cloudy skies start us off and will be with us through much of the day. Some sun may manage to peek out just before sunset. Temperatures today should top out near the average high for the date in the mid-40s.

As for precipitation, the system that is moving through is not particularly well-organized and downslope flow will not be helping much. We do see a chance for a rain / snow mix with the best opportunity coming from mid-morning through the afternoon. Much of the precipitation that falls will evaporate before it even hits the ground but some should make it all the way down. No accumulation is expected though.

Precipitation should end by about 4:00pm and then skies will gradually clear. Overnight lows tonight will be in the low to mid-20s.

We do see one more chance for snow on Wednesday but otherwise the workweek will be quiet. Check our extended forecast for more.
