Cooler, unsettled weather conditions for Thornton’s weekend

Friday, May 17th, 2019 5:21am MDT

A series of systems is going to break the heat of recent days. These will lead to cooler temperatures and offer up chances for showers and thunderstorms lasting into the middle of next week.

For Friday, partly sunny skies will be above throughout the day. From late morning into this evening some showers and thunderstorms may be seen. Gusty winds will be the most notable feature but some brief, heavy rain, perhaps small hail will be possible. Any storms will end by midnight tonight and lows will dip to the low to mid-40s.

Colder air settles in Saturday with highs in the low to mid-60s. Mostly sunny skies will be above initially then an increase in clouds in the afternoon and evening. There will be a slight chance for PM storms. Saturday night into Sunday morning, partly clear skies will be above with lows in the upper 30s.

Sunday should be similar to Saturday but with more clouds. Highs will again be in the low to mid-60s under partly clear skies. The PM brings a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Have a great weekend!
