Cold front starts Thornton’s weekend off cooler but the heat will return

Friday, September 17th, 2021 4:57am MDT

As you could probably guess from the wind this morning, a cold front is pushing through the area. That will provide a brief, one-day break from the heat today and then we will warm right back up for Saturday and Sunday.

For Friday, there will be a few clouds early then sunny skies should prevail. Winds will continue to be breezy until mid-morning before settling down. Highs today will top out in the mid-70s offering a pleasant break from the heat. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with overnight lows dipping to the upper 40s.

Saturday will be the warmest day of the three-day period. Look for highs right around 90 degrees under sunny skies. We may see some breezy winds in the evening. Saturday night, lows will be in the upper 50s under partly clear skies.

The weekend closes out in pretty nice fashion on Sunday. Sunny to mostly sunny skies will be above with highs in the mid to upper 80s. We do expect some breezy winds in the afternoon.

Have a great weekend!
