A taste of fall as Wednesday offers up cooler temperatures, chances for showers

Wednesday, September 29th, 2021 5:10am MDT

Maybe, just maybe, we are finally done with the summer heat. A cold front will arrive today serving up much cooler temperatures and, with any luck, some much-needed precipitation.

Partly clear to mostly cloudy skies will be with us this morning with clouds increasing in the afternoon. The aforementioned cold front will push through this morning and with it, some breezy winds will be seen into the evening. Highs today will top out in the upper 60s, maybe hit the 70-degree mark.

Light sprinkles will be possible throughout the morning but aren’t expected to amount to much. Better chances for measurable precipitation come in the afternoon and particularly in the evening.

Tonight, we will have a decent chance for showers in the evening until about midnight. After that, only scattered activity is expected.  Overnight lows will dip to the mid-40s.
