Weekend to offer unseasonably warm temps, slight chances for storms

Friday, September 8th, 2017 5:10am MDT

Thornton will enjoy a relatively nice weekend, albeit with temperatures a good ways above normal. Friday and Sunday do offer up some chances for thunderstorms although they aren’t expected to amount to much.

For today look for sunny skies to start things off followed by some clouds starting to appear by mid to late morning and increasing in the afternoon. Temperatures will be warming up and heading toward a high in the upper 80s. From about 3:00pm into the evening there is just the slight chance for thunderstorms however gusty winds, perhaps a brief shower are all that is expected. Overnight tonight into Saturday morning skies will clear some and temperatures will dip to the upper 50s.

Saturday will be a dry day with mostly sunny skies above. Temperatures will once again be unseasonably with highs right near the 90 degree mark. The evening may bring see some isolated thunderstorm activity but again, not much is expected from them. Saturday night will be partly to mostly cloudy with lows near 60 degrees.

We close out the weekend on Sunday with little change in the weather. Mostly to partly sunny skies will be above and temperatures will climb to near 90 degrees. Once again there will be a slight chance for a late afternoon or evening thunderstorm.

Have a great weekend!
