Weak system to bring slight chance for showers Wednesday
Wednesday, February 6th, 2013 5:41am MDTTemperatures in Thornton will once again be mild today reaching toward the mid-50s. A weak cold front will be moving through northern Colorado this afternoon and coupled with increased moisture could bring a rain shower to the area then a slight chance for snow this evening. The chances don’t look great for us to receive much, if anything at all, from this system as most of the activity will be focused south of Denver.
Dry and mild conditions return Thursday and Friday.
This weekend’s weather looks to be quite interesting as a potent, moisture-laden system continues on track to bring back wintry conditions to most of northern Colorado including the Denver metro area. This system is still a good ways off and much could change between now and Saturday but right now the potential exists for widespread snowfall with possibly significant accumulations. We will know more as it gets closer in the next 24 to 48 hours.
