Thornton’s weekend weather to start off warmer, end colder with snow

Friday, November 9th, 2018 5:05am MDT

Looking at the forecast for the next three days, on the plus side, we will see warmer, dry conditions Friday and Saturday. Veterans Day however turns much colder and brings a decent chance for snow.

For today, sunny skies will be the rule throughout the day. Temperatures start out quite cold but should warm up nicely with a high in the mid-40s. Tonight partly cloudy skies will be above with lows dipping to around 20 degrees.

Saturday will be the warmest day of the period with highs in the mid-50s. We will have some clouds above but should still be clear enough to call for mostly sunny skies. The next storm system arrives Saturday night.

Temperatures overnight Saturday into Sunday will dip to the mid-20s under mostly cloudy skies. By dawn Sunday, we could be seeing a few flakes of snow.

Cloudy skies will be the rule on Veterans Day with a high temperature only near freezing. Light snow will be possible throughout the day with the best chances coming in the afternoon. Right now, an inch or so seems to be possible. Snow will end overnight Sunday night and skies will begin to clear.

Have a great weekend and thank you all our nation’s veterans – we are forever in your debt!
