Thornton’s weekend weather to offer a mixed bag of mild and cold

Friday, November 16th, 2018 5:15am MDT

There’s a little bit of everything in the three-day outlook. We start unseasonably warm, then chill out considerably with some light snow and cold temps and follow that up with a nice rebound to sun and warmer temps.

Friday will be the warmest day of the period with highs in the low 60s. We start out mostly clear then will see clouds increase leading to partly sunny skies for much of the day.

This evening after dark, winds will pick up and become quite breezy as our next front pushes through. Mostly cloudy skies will be above tonight and, after midnight, we begin to see a chance for some freezing drizzle. We’re not expecting much accumulation of ice but if you head out early tomorrow you will want to be careful.

Saturday is going to be quite cold with highs only in the mid-20s. Cloudy skies will be above and light snow will be possible throughout the day. The evening will see the snow ease and come to an end. Total accumulations should remain less than an inch.

Overnight Saturday night into Sunday morning, skies will begin to clear and temps will get quite cold.

Sunday will close out the weekend pretty nicely. Overall sunny skies will be above and temperatures should rebound to the mid-40s.

Have a great weekend!
