Thornton’s weekend weather starts unsettled and wet, dries out Sunday

Friday, April 20th, 2018 5:09am MDT

Somewhat of a mixed bag of weather for the three day period. We start out cool and unsettled while receiving some much-needed precipitation then close things out with a nice, dry spring day.

For Friday, a system will be moving in and as it does, we see some good chances for rain. Some lighter, more scattered activity will be possible early with the best chances coming after 3:00pm and lasting through tonight. Mostly cloudy skies will be above with some breezy winds in the afternoon. Highs today will top out in the low to mid-50s.

Tonight, rain showers will continue then, as temperatures drop, we may see a chance to snow in the early morning hours. However, little accumulation is expected and any that does stick should only be on the grassy areas. Overnight lows will be in the mid-30s.

Tomorrow will be a bit of a day of transition. A few, light rain showers will be possible in the morning then in the afternoon activity will come to an end. Some clearing of the skies will also occur in the PM. Highs tomorrow will again be in the low to mid-50s.

Saturday night into Sunday morning skies will continue to clear. Low temps will dip to the mid-30s.

We then close out the weekend with what should be a very nice day Sunday. Expect to see lots of sun, dry conditions and highs in the mid-60s.
