Thornton’s weekend to start off with some wind but then become quite pleasant

Friday, December 8th, 2017 5:07am MDT

Following the chilly weather of the past week, we begin a nice warm-up today. While wind will be a bit of a factor on Friday, the rest of the period will be calm and pleasant.

For today, look for some clouds to start things off but then gradual clearing will occur throughout the day. By this afternoon we should be seeing mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will warm to highs close to the 60 degree mark. Most notable today will be breezy winds that will peak in the early afternoon before settling down by the evening.

Overnight tonight, skies will clear and we will see lows in the upper 20s.

Saturday will offer up lots and mild temps. Cloud cover should be pretty much non-existent so look for sunny skies. Mercury readings will again be well above normal with highs around 60 degrees.

Saturday night into Sunday morning, skies remain clear and the temperature drops to the upper 20s. T

he weekend closes out on Sunday with another nice day. Temperatures push to just above the 60 degree mark. Above, look for sunny to mostly sunny skies.

While it certainly would be nice to have some moisture, the good thing about the mild weather is that Mother Nature should have no effect on the city’s annual Winterfest celebration. Have a great weekend!
