Thornton’s Tuesday kicks off a string of four hot days

Tuesday, June 26th, 2018 5:03am MDT

High pressure is building and creating a ridge that will lock in the heat and keep moisture at bay. The result will be four days with temperatures well above normal before relief arrives this weekend.

For today, we start out under clear skies and will enjoy lots of sun through the morning. The afternoon will bring just a few clouds.

Overall conditions will be calm and winds light. As for temperatures, we will warm quickly once the sun comes up with readings near 90 by noon and on our way to an afternoon high in the mid-90s.

Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy with lows in the low to mid-60s.

Looking ahead, we will follow up our heat today with hotter readings Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday may bring our first 100 degree reading of the day. Friday cools only slightly then the weekend should see the mercury return to near normal levels.

Use our live weather gauges to keep an eye on the temps.
