Thornton’s Thursday offers cold temps, maybe a few snowflakes

Thursday, December 7th, 2017 5:10am MST

Another chilly day today for us with some breezy winds to go with. While there is a slight chance for snow, we aren’t holding our breath.

The day starts with mostly clear skies but cloud cover will build through the morning leading to cloudy skies in the afternoon and evening. Winds will initially be light but then become breezy out of the north by mid-morning into the afternoon.

After a cold start we will warm up, but not a whole lot. Look for highs in the mid-30s. As for that possible snow, we really see the white stuff staying to the south of us. But, we can’t rule out a random snowflake or two from mid-afternoon into the evening. There just isn’t much moisture to work with so we may very well get nothing.

Tonight, skies remain pretty cloudy with temperatures dropping to the mid-20s.

We’ll enjoy a nice warmup starting tomorrow that will last through the weekend. More details on that in the extended forecast here.
