Thornton’s Thanksgiving weekend starts mild, will end with wind and a bit of a chill

Thursday, November 22nd, 2018 5:38am MDT

Thornton’s Thanksgiving weekend starts mild, will end with wind and a bit of a chill. Somewhat of a mixed bag of weather for our long, four-day weekend.

The holiday itself will be mild but with some clouds then a series of disturbances will mix things up bringing cooler temperatures and breezy conditions. Things start off nicely on Thursday with mostly sunny skies but cloud cover will be increasing as the day progresses. Conditions will be calm and dry though and highs will reach around the 60 degree mark. Tonight, skies will be mostly cloudy with lows near freezing.

Friday will continue to be mild with a good bit of sun above however a pressure gradient will lead to breezy winds throughout the day. Look for highs in the mid-50s. Friday night, partly cloudy skies will be above, lows dipping to below freezing.

Saturday starts out nice with mostly sunny skies and temps will be a bit above normal with highs in the low-50s. There is just a slight chance for a light shower of rain and it will again be breezy. Saturday night, winds will continue to be breezy before easing in the predawn hours. Lows Saturday night into Sunday morning will be in the low to mid-20s.

Sunday closes things out nicely overall but with some chilly temps. Look for lots of sun but highs only in the low to mid-40s.

From the Thornton Weather family to yours, we wish you all a happy, safe Thanksgiving!
