Series of fronts to unsettle Thornton’s Wednesday weather

Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 6:39am MDT

Today will offer near normal temperatures again however by the latter half of the day we will see things start to change. One front will arrive around noon bringing chances for storms and a second, reinforcing front, arrives tonight keeping things stirred up and offering much cooler temperatures tomorrow.

We start out the day today with mostly sunny skies and calm conditions. Clouds will slowly increase by mid-morning leading to partly sunny skies in the afternoon.

The first front will bring chances for showers and thunderstorms beginning at noon and lasting through the evening and overnight hours. Winds will be gusty at times with the frontal passage. Temperatures should top out near the average for today’s date of 89 degrees.

Tonight, clouds remain as do chances for storms until midnight. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s.

That second front that we mentioned will pull in cooler air and result in high temperatures tomorrow in the 70s.
