The mercury in Thornton dipped down to 0° at 1:19am this morning which was our coldest temperature in more than a year. You have to go all the way back to December 6, 2011 to find a colder reading (-6.5°).
Wednesday will bring warmer temperatures but the mercury will still top out well short of average for this time of year. There will be some increased cloud cover which will help tonight from being as cold as last night.
A weak system will be moving through this evening and may bring some snow flurries overnight and through tomorrow. No accumulation from these showers is expected though.
Over the longer term, it appears below normal temperatures will be staying with us through the first week of January. See the image for today’s outlook and http://www.thorntonweather.com/forecast.php for the extended forecast.
