Chilly temps, breezy winds follow latest snowstorm

Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 5:10am MST

The system that brought us a healthy shot of snow has moved out but its effects will linger for a bit in the form of below normal temperatures today.  Much warmer weather does lie ahead tomorrow and Thursday but another system threatens more snow this weekend.

The recent storm dropped 6.1 inches of snow on Thornton, our biggest of the season thus far.  We will see some of that start to melt today.

Look for mostly to partly clear skies above throughout the day today.  Temperatures will be about 10 degrees below normal with a high of around 36 degrees.  A bit of a steep pressure gradient is going to bring some breezy winds, particularly this afternoon.

Looking ahead, tomorrow should bring temperatures back to normal and Thursday looks to be the warmest day of the week with a high near 60 degrees.

Our next weather system looks to arrive late in the day Friday.  All models are in agreement that the system will impact us but the details do vary between them.  The potential is there for another decent shot of snow from Friday night possibly lasting into Sunday.
