A mild Monday with a slight chance for a thunderstorm, cold and snow return tonight

Monday, April 23rd, 2018 5:15am MDT

The daytime hours of the first day of the workweek don’t look too bad with above normal temps and just a slight chance for a storm in the afternoon. However, a cold front will push through late this evening bringing better chances for precipitation, including snow, overnight.

The day starts out with mostly sunny skies then will see a gradual increase in cloud cover through the morning and afternoon. Temperatures will warm steadily toward an early afternoon high in the low 70s. After 4:00pm there will be a slight chance for a thunderstorm to move off the high country to lower elevations.

The cold front should arrive after 8:00pm and with it we will see some gusty winds after dark. Overnight some light rain will be possible with a change to snow early tomorrow. Light accumulations, if any, and only on grassy areas will be seen. Lows tonight will be near freezing.
